The latest beta release of Apple‘s iOS 26.4 includes an age verification step for iPhone owners in the UK, which can be completed in under 30 seconds.
In the iOS 26.4 beta 2, users are prompted in the Settings app to confirm they are 18 years or older. If Apple is unable to verify the user’s age, they may be required to scan a credit card or photo ID to confirm their adulthood. However, in some cases, the process can be completely automatic, taking less than 30 seconds to complete.
The introduction of this age verification step in iOS 26.4 beta 2 may have implications for Apple users in the UK, and it will be interesting to see how the feature is received and potentially expanded to other regions in future releases.
