Apple is set to start producing some of its Mac Mini computers in the US, as part of its efforts to increase domestic investment. This move is in line with the Trump administration’s push for companies to manufacture their products in the US.
The production of Mac Mini in the US will take place at a Foxconn facility located in north Houston, Texas, which currently assembles Apple‘s AI servers. Manufacturing is expected to begin later this year. Apple will still maintain its Mac Mini production in Asia. In a statement, Apple CEO Tim Cook expressed the company’s commitment to American manufacturing, stating: “Apple is deeply committed to the future of American manufacturing, and we’re proud to significantly expand our footprint in Houston with the production of Mac Mini starting later this year.”
The impact of this move is expected to be significant, as it marks a notable shift in Apple‘s manufacturing strategy. With the production of Mac Mini in the US set to begin later this year, it will be interesting to see how this affects the company’s overall manufacturing operations and its relationship with the US government. As Apple continues to expand its presence in Houston, it is likely that the company will face increased scrutiny and attention from both the public and the government.
